Two Voices Lost

August 26 the media lost the lives of Alison Parker and Adam Ward. Racial tension fueled the gunman’s motive, Vester Lee Flanagan ll, a fired television reporter with a long history of communication issues and complaints pertaining to his work environment. The last notch on the belt that set him off was the June 17th shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, in which a white supremacist killed 9 black people after attending a bible study session with them. Flanagan claimed “The victims’ initials are written on the bullets.” He brought the homicides to justice by claiming Parker made racist comments. He posted a POV video he was recording onto his Facebook and left the link on his twitter, he also set up multiple social media accounts to ensure the videos were recording and being broadcasted live. Flanagan later shot himself in the head once surrounded by police.
