Most people have hobbies or interests outside of school, and sophomore Andrew George has many. Whether it’s playing different instruments or running, he’s always doing something.

“My name is Andrew George, I am in band, track, and cross country. I’ve done track for about a month, maybe a little less. I signed up for it because I did cross country, and it was a lot of fun, and if you don’t do- it’s like an unspoken rule amongst the cross country community that if you do one ,you have to do both,” George said.

Although his reason for joining cross country sounds a little peer pressured, George has seemed to enjoy it.

“It’s pretty fun, I enjoy it a lot, it’s like, you run.” George said, “One thing I wish I knew before I started was how much we ran.”

Even though this is his first year doing track, he plans on doing it for the rest of high school. Outside of school, George also has some other interesting hobbies,

“I play instruments, I’m in the band, I also play the bass guitar in my free time.” George said.

Other than the instruments he plays outside of school, he plays the trombone in band.

“I didn’t pick it; I wanted to play the saxophone but they gave me a trombone instead, so I’m playing trombone.”

Although he does enjoy playing the trombone there are some other instruments he would choose to play.

“I don’t know, I mean, I might say the bass guitar because I just actually play it in my free time but if I could do something more with it, that would be fun. If I had to pick a different band instrument though I would pick the saxophone,” George said.
