Mark your calendar, because on the first Friday of every month KC natives fill the streets of the Kansas City Crossroads district. First Fridays have become one of KC’s most popular events. Enjoy art galleries, studios, and visit local businesses as they show off their work. Expect a full day with some popular food trucks and street music.

  “First Fridays is downtown at the West Bottoms the first Friday of every month. They have vintage shops, food trucks, and music. It’s really fun to see all the different styles of Kansas City, and to see everyone being brought together,” sophomore Claire Mason said.

  Vendors at First Friday’s get to put their own spin in on their shops and create the perfect store for what they are wanting to sell.

  Everyone who sells there is passionate about the products that they provide. It is such a unique atmosphere because it takes place inside of old warehouses and every booth is designed differently to how they want it,” Aubrey Larkin said.

  Some of the people who attend First Fridays may often get inspired by the environment around them, and branch off into larger interest.

  “I have always enjoyed going to First Fridays and after starting Aubrey’s Attic Co I knew I wanted to expand and start selling inside other shops. I knew Bella Patina was the perfect fit for me because they have a beautiful mix of vintage and new finds,” Larkin said.
